It really is only a matter of time until we lose Grooveshark forever, isn’t it?
Yesterday, I attempted to review this album for you all, but unfortunately, the stream I was listening to only had the first 9 tracks. I have stopped downloading leaks, so I was stymied for a day.
Never fear, Grooveshark is here, allowing its users to once again propagate the Internet with leaked albums, free and clear (for me anyways).
Toro y Moi has been a bastion of Chillwave since its inception way back in 2008.
Chillwave, for the uninitiated, is dance music that has high levels of trance qualities. It’s hard to rectify the idea that Chillwave and Dream Pop have anything in common, and yet there is this intrinsic link between the two. Chillwave is like Dream Pop’s unruly child, trying to do its own thing, while still carrying on the traditions and values of its mother (Dream Pop is a woman).
If you were to trust Rate Your Music on this one, Toro y Moi had the first Chillwave album, 2008’s My Touch. Three albums later, he continues to ride the wave into what may prove to be his best release yet. Continue reading

For the sake of brevity and my own self-image, I’m going to limit myself in what I say about this album. Is it the best album of 2010? No. Is it the best pop album of 2010? I’ve never been a huge fan of The Charlatans…now don’t confuse that with me hating them, they are far from a bad band and I know they have their fans so if this review does not agree with your tastes, then feel free to comment, this is just how I feel, I don’t claim to be an expert on this band but I am a person who likes music and The Charlatans well they make music so here’s the review.
Who We Touch is the band’s first album since 2008’s You Cross My Path which was released on the internet as a free download before getting a retail release a few months later. While not a bad album You Cross My Path failed to do much to set itself apart from the crowd. A couple of great singles with memorable melodies made the album worth hearing a couple of times but nothing more really, at best it gave you a couple of songs to add to your shuffle, anyway that’s the past Who We Touch is the present and the question is, is it better?

I know what you’re thinking, what the hell is John doing writing a Miley Cyrus review when he has yet to do his top albums of the year list, well the answer is I’m not ready yet and I’ve heard this album too many times thanks to my sister to not want to comment on it. Well here we go my review of a Miley Cyrus album
I’ve been working on this damn list all year, I’m going to document it in full somewhere. While there are still about ten more albums I’m going to listen to before the close of the year, I’ll wrap them up before the end of the year at some point. Regardless, Onwards!
I’m revisiting Green Day’s newest concept album (It’s not a rock opera. Tommy is a rock opera. The Wall is a rock opera. This is a concept album.) about the characters Christian and Gloria, who may or may not be extensions of Jesus of Suburbia and Whatsername from American Idiot. I’m not sure why. It probably won’t be a track-by-track review of it. I’m just sort of putting down thoughts here.
